There aren't enough nice guys in this world. Some boys may appear kind, but actually have hidden intentions. Some try, but fall back on selfish tendencies. Being polite and courteous is not hard, but does require some self-evaluation. Here are some tips to put you on the respectable path.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You'll Need:

  • Sincerity
  1. Step 1

Hold the door for women. This is one of the most overlooked everyday actions. Not only is it right thing to do, but also it shows certain thoughtfulness.

  2. Step 2

Be polite. Remember to say 'please' and 'thank you.' Even if it's something as small as taking a bag of groceries from the sales clerk, saying 'thanks' can really make one's day.

  3. Step 3

Watch your mouth. While some people may not consider swearing to be a characteristic of the unkind, it's one of those peripherals that represent character. It's true that some nice guys curse. This number is minute compared to the number of meatheads that do.

  4. Step 4

Take your girl friend out for dinner. Note that I said girl friend, not girlfriend. Sometimes catching up over food and drinks is the best way to show your friend you appreciate her. But do this for the sake of being nice, not because you want to go home with her.

  5. Step 5

Learn from your gaffes. Nobody's perfect. But a smart man looks at his mistakes and acts differently when placed in a similar situation.
