There are easy ways to create a new folder on your desktop to keep your items organized and easy to access. Whether you have a notebook or desktop, the methods used to create new storage folders are largely the same.

      Use the mouse to right click anywhere on your desktop. Minimize any open windows if necessary to access your desktop.

      Hover your mouse over the word "new" on the dialog box that appears.

      Select "folder" from the properties box. A folder icon will appear on your desktop.

      Right-click on the folder icon and rename the folder. Give the folder a memorable name or name it to match the documents you'll be storing there.

      Using your mouse, drag and drop music, email, software, icons, documents, spreadsheets, photos and more in the folder. You can create as many of these desktop folders as necessary. You may want to group them by project or subject.

    Most of my computer clients do not know they can save or create a new file folder to their desktop. Just imagine how much more organized your life on the web and computer can be!
