You have beautiful drinking glasses you used over the holidays, but once you take them from the dishwasher, they are cloudy. Are you wondering if they are ruined? Use this technique and they will be as good as new.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Heat a 1/2 a bottle of white vinegar in a pot until warm to the touch.

  2. Step 2

Pour heated vinegar into a large bowl (one that will hold the glasses) or pour vinegar into a stoppered sink.

  3. Step 3

Soak filmy glasses in warm vinegar for an hour.

  4. Step 4

After glasses have soaked, scrub with a plastic scrubbie until film is removed.

Tips & Warnings
  • To avoid etching, use less dishwasher detergent (if you have soft water).
  • If you have hard water, turn the temperature of your dishwasher to 140.
  • To avoid the film and the etching, just wash your best drinking glasses by hand.
  • Unfortunately if glasses are still filmy then they are etched.
  • Etching occurs from tiny scratches from the dishwasher.
