Hummingbird cocktails are rum-based smoothies served in Jamaica. They taste like ice cream milkshakes but pack a punch thanks to the rum cream and coffee liqueur. If you don't have strawberry syrup, you can use strawberry preserves or a handful of frozen or fresh strawberries instead. Things You'll Need

  • 1 banana
  • 1 ounce strawberry syrup
  • 2 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 ounce coffee liqueur
  • 1 ounce rum cream
  • 1 cup ice
  • Knife
  • Blender
  • Milkshake glass
  • Strawberries
  • Banana

Instructions

      Cut the banana into 4 or 6 pieces.

      Place banana chunks in blender.

      Pour the strawberry syrup, evaporated milk, coffee liqueur and rum cream into the blender. Add about 1 cup of ice.

      Place the cap on the blender and select the blend function on the blender.

      Allow ingredients to blend in blender for 30 seconds. Pour into milkshake glass. Garnish and serve.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use regular milk or soy milk instead of evaporated milk.

  • You can find strawberry syrup in the pancake aisle of grocery stores.
