How to Use Dryer Sheets around Your Home

  1. Step 1

Dryer Sheets make a great deodorizer. Hang them in closets to keep clothes smelling fresh. Put them under car seats, in clothing drawers, gym bags, lockers, under couch cushions and even in shoes and sneakers that are not being worn. You can put them in luggage to keep it from smelling musty when it is not being used. You can even put them in the bottom of trash cans to keep smells down.

  2. Step 2

Dryers sheets are great to clean with! They dissolve soap scum so you can use them to clean bathtubs and shower doors. They dissolve the baked on messes in pots and pans; simply fill the pan with hot water and then place a dryer sheet in there and let it soak. Overnight works well. Then use the dryer sheet to wipe the pan clean. They are also great to polish mirrors and appliances with. You can use them to clean off stove tops after cooking spills and messes.

  3. Step 3

Dryer Sheets repel static and dust so you can dust plastic and metal blinds with them. Dust TV and computer screens with them and keep dust from resettling. You can run them across hard floors to collect dust and pet hair easily. They are also great for cleaning up sawdust in the shop. Use them on clothing too by running one over a skirt or shirt to cut down on static. You can run one through your hair to cut down on static there too!

  4. Step 4

Dryer sheets also repel some pests. For example if you hang a dryer sheet or two on your patio or deck in the summer they are known to keep mosquitoes away. Mice also hate the smell of them, so if you will place some sheets over the doorway to vacant homes they will not enter in.
