How to Add an JPEG Image to a Word Document

Writing do-it-yourself article require the inclusion of many photos along with the text. The inclusion of photos makes systematic instruction much easier to understand. As a wise person once said, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Fortunately, the inclusion of photos in a Word document is a relatively easy and straightforward process.

Things You’ll Need:

• Microsoft Word
• The photos to be imported

1. Santa and Puppy Love Start a new Word document or open the document that you want to place the photo in and place your cursor where you want the photo to appear as I have here.
2. Click on the INSERT drop-down menu button.
3. On the INSERT drop-down menu, highlight PICTURE and click on FROM FILE.
4. Navigate to the file where the picture is stored. This may be a single step or a multi-step process depending on how you have your folders organized on your computer. The photos that you want to use may also be on CD and if that be the case you will have to navigate to that drive to retrieve the photo.I store most of my photos on CD because it saves a great deal of hard drive space.
5. Select the picture that you want to insert and then click insert.
