How to Keep Your Pit Latrine Clean

We must keep our latrines clean in order to avoid diseases. Here is how.

Things You’ll Need:

• Toilet cover
• Spray
• Plastic brush
• Soap or detergent powder
• Scrubbing brush

1. Get your soap or detergent powder and mix them with water in a container or basin.
2. Wash your latrine using a plastic brush and dry it using a scrub brush.
3. Open it for about five minutes to get fresh air.
4. Spray the pit of your latrine in order to protect it from flies and cockroaches.
5. Get a cover and place it on the top of your latrine.
6. Finally close your latrine using a medium size padlock to avoid the strangers who can make it dirty.
