To attach pendants and other beads to earrings and necklaces, you'll need to attach an eye loop to thread your wire or string through.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • headpin
  • chain-nose pliers
  • round-nose pliers
  • wire cutters
  • a pendant or other finding with holes
  • emery board or cloth
  1. Step 1

Put the headpin through your pendant so that the pendant sits on the flat end of the headpin.

  2. Step 2

Using your chain-nose pliers, grab the headpin just above the pendant and bend the wire away from you, at about a 90-degree angle.

  3. Step 3

Grab the wire at the bend using your round-nose pliers. Turn the pliers toward the bend, then with your fingers coil the wire around one jaw of the pliers so that a loop forms.

  4. Step 4

Use your wire cutters to cut the excess wire, so that the end of the loop meets the pendant. Use an emery board or cloth to smooth any harsh edges.
