How to Make a Wrapped-Wire Loop When Making Beaded Jewelry

Sometimes, homemade jewelry can look amateurish and sloppy. One way to make your creations look polished and professional is to use the wrapped-wire loop method.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• beading wire
• 2 pairs of chain-nose pliers
• round-nose pliers
• manual dexterity

1. Cut a length of beading wire appropriate to your project—short if its for an earring, longer for a bracelet and still longer for a necklace.

2. Hold the wire a few inches from its end with your chain-nose pliers. Turning the pliers away from you, bend the wire about 90 degrees.

3. Hold the wire in its bend with your round-nose pliers and turn the pliers toward the bend.

4. With your fingers, wrap the wire around one jaw of the pliers to create a loop.

5. Hold the loop with one set of chain-nose pliers. and use the other set to grab the loose end of the wire. Coil the wire two or three times below the loop. Cut off any excess wire and use an emery board or cloth to soften any harsh edges.
