How to Open a Jump Ring When Making Beaded Jewelry

When you're making beaded jewelry, jump rings can come in very handy--they allow you to attach a metal loop to any part of the necklace, bracelet or earrings so that a clasp can be connected or a pendant or some other embellishment can be added.

Things You’ll Need:

• jump rings
• two pairs of pliers

1. Hold the jump ring with the two sets of pliers.
2. Carefully pull the ring apart, turning your wrists so that one moves toward you and the other away.
3. To close the ring, reverse the directions.
