Things You'll Need:
- 9-inch-by-9-inch baking pan, buttered
- 6 cups French, challah or brioche bread cubes
- 3/4 cup dark or light raisins
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon grated orange rind
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- For orange sauce: 1 cup orange juice; 1/2 cup sugar; 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Bread and raisins in pan.Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place bread cubes and raisins in buttered baking pan.

Mix together eggs and milk.Mix together eggs, sweetened condensed milk, 2-1/2 cups hot water, melted butter, orange rind, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.

Moisten bread cubes completely.Pour egg-milk mixture evenly over bread, moistening completely.

Bread pudding, puffy and golden, right out of the oven.Bake 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Plated Bread Pudding with Orange SauceMake the orange sauce by combining in a saucepan orange juice, sugar and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Serve with warm bread pudding. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and orange zest, if desired.
