How to Make Self-Rising Flour

Beware that not all cake flours are self-rising flours. To make some (and save some money doing so), read ahead.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • all-purpose flour
  • salt
  • baking powder
  1. Step 1

    For each cup of flour needed in your recipe, add 2 teaspoons of baking powder.

  2. Step 2

    Then add a 1/2 teaspoon of salt per cup of flour needed in your recipe. The salt will help the flour rise.

  3. Step 3

    Combine well and sift.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make a couple pounds of self-rising flour and store in a large jar.
