Custom-Made Drapes: If you are planning on using curtains or draperies to cover your tall windows, forget about buying ready-made. Chances are you will only find up to 84 inches in length for the most part. There are only very few stores that carry ready-made curtains that are 96 or 108 inches long, or even longer. Your best bet is to hire someone to make your curtains. Custom-made drapes would allow you to choose the best option for your design taste and you will be guaranteed an accurate measurement of the height and width of your windows. Furthermore, they can hang them securely for they are trained professionals.

Window Films: To address privacy and protection from UV light, you can add window films. They come in shades of grey and brown, you can also go as dark as you want to. This is a choice for high-rise lofts and condos to give privacy and protect the furniture from too much sunlight.
There are also window films that are one-way--the outside look like a mirror. People can't see the inside of your house or unit but you can see them.

Tips & Warnings
For a series of windows that are above each other, you can mix and match window coverings. Choose plantation shutters or blinds at the bottom then hang drapes on the higher windows to be drawn at night for privacy but can be kept open during the day. If privacy is not an issue you can leave the top portion exposed and the lower portions covered.
