A birthday, an anniversary, a retirement—any event that used to inspire people to put together a scrapbook or album of notes, photos, memories and special keepsakes—can now be shared online by all at tribbit.com.
Go to tribbit.com and join (see link below). It's free.
Step2
The process of creating an online multimedia card that everyone "signs" with pictures, words and voices begins by clicking the "Start New" button.
Step3
You are taken through a series of steps to set up the online card specifically for your occasion. You create a title, select a design and write an introduction explaining why you are creating the tribute.
Step4
You can add a photo from your computer or from the Web.
Step5
You can add voice messages using your phone. It gets converted to an MP3 that is embedded in the card.
Step6
You can embed video.
Step7
You can choose music from a playlist provided by Tribbit.
Step8
Once you've finished setting up the basics for the tribute card, save your work. Then invite others to contribute their words, thoughts, photos, messages or videos to the tribute.
Enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite to contribute to the card. Tribbit sends the mail with a message you can add to or change. Contributors have 14 days to add to the tribute.
Step9
Contributors add to the online tribute when they receive the email invitation.
When the contributors receive the email, they are directed to a page where they can add their own thoughts about the person being honored.
Step10
When the tribute is completed, click the link "Present Tribute Now." The tribute recipient will be sent an email containing a link to the URL for the online card at Tribbit where they can enjoy viewing the card again and again.
Step11
If you want to keep the tribute a secret until the specific event arrives, that's possible too. The finished product can be emailed to the recipient or be shared at the event. You can also purchase the tribute as a commemorative keepsake such as a flipbook, DVD or poster.
Tips & Warnings
Be sure to include everyone on the contributor list who might have some words, photos or memories to share.
