How to Uninstall Software in Windows

Are you tired of having programs on your computer that you don't use, taking up your priceless hard drive space? This article will show you how to uninstall programs when using any Windows operating system.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with a Windows operating system

Step1
Access the Uninstall A Program menu. This can be found by clicking on the Start menu button, then clicking the Control Panel. Uninstall A Program is found in the Control Panel's "Programs" section. Select "Uninstall a Program".
Step2
Determine what program(s) to uninstall. The menu you will now see shows a list of the programs installed on your computer, and in some operating systems, their size and the date they were installed on. Be sure that the program(s) you are going to uninstall are not used and will not be needed.
Step3
Uninstall the program. Simply click once on the program you want to uninstall, the click on the "Uninstall" button. This will begin the process, and in most cases you will be guided through the remainder of the process by the Uninstall menu.
