Step 1
Sign up for an account with CafePress.
-
Step 2
Create one or more designs to use on your products. You can use most graphics programs to create your images, as long as you can save them in a supported file format. The recommended formats are png and jpeg, but some other formats are also accepted.
-
Step 3
Choose the products you wish to offer. CafePress will print your image on apparel, bags, household items, buttons, stickers, cards and more.
-
Step 4
Decide how much of a markup you want on each item. The markup from the item’s base price is your profit. Be sure you make it adequate to keep your store profitable, but not so high that no one will want to purchase from you.
-
Step 5
Set up your shop. You can get a basic shop for free, or you can get a premium shop for as little as $4.99 a month. Premium shops can be highly customized, and you can offer an unlimited number of products with them.
-
Step 6
Promote your CafePress shop. Add links to your website, blog and ezine. Include a link in your forum and email signatures. You could even promote offline if you wish.

on 1/27/2009 I started a Cafepress site about 2 yrs ago and it was slow going in the beg, but after about two months people started to buy my products. With Cafepress being so huge, you really need to find a niche.
A word of advice I have tried adverising with Adwords, Craigslist, newsletters...nothing has produced as of yet. I get the most buyers from simply being a part of Cafepress. A useful tool I have found is using google analytics with your cafepress site, this allows you to track if your marketing efforts are producing.
To give numbers I make about 15-50 dollars a month from my site. (My site wwww.weeteeshirts.com is ski and snowboard related baby clothes which gets more traffic in the winter months that is why the fluctation in monthly collections. The money may not seem like alot but once the site is set up, the wheels are in motion and there is nothing left for you do to.

on 9/25/2008 it certainly has a difficulty ratting of 8 in my view as the work flows to actually understand where you are when downloading a design getting into an image basket then it leaves you dry and the guessing game starts. Actually a ridiculous format but once you finally get around to understanding the logic which is illogical you can do it
