Sweet and gooey, Rice Krispie Treats bring back childhood memories more than chocolate chip cookies. These three-ingredient bars freeze well, allowing you to make several batches to last up to six months. The next time you find yourself with a craving for one of these treats, just pull one out of the freezer. Individual wrapping of Rice Krispies takes a bit more effort than freezing the entire batch whole, but you do not have to thaw the batch just for one or two of the yummy treats.
Step 1:
Let the Rice Krispie Treats cool in the pan for 15 minutes after preparation to set their texture.
Step 2:
Cut with a pizza cutter into 2-inch squares if not already sliced.
Step 3:
Wrap each treat in a square of wax paper and place into a resealable freezer bag.
Step 4:
Freeze the bags of wrapped treats for up to six months.
Step 5:
Enjoy your Rice Krispie Treats by thawing on the counter for 15 to 20 minutes after removing from the freezer.
Tips
- Use a long, sharp knife if you do not have a pizza cutter, but the cutter makes straighter cuts and glides through the tray of Rice Krispie Treats easier.
