(Powdered Marshmallow root was used originally in Egypt rather than our modern day gelatin and can now can be purchased in many herb shops)

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

  • Powdered root
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 C raw cane sugar
  • 8x8" baking pan
  1. Step 1

Whip egg whites until stiff and stand up in peaks.

  2. Step 2

Slowly, whiled still whipping egg whites add the vanilla.

  3. Step 3

Slowly ad the powdered marshmallow (root) one tsp. at a time.

  4. Step 4

Add a small amount of candied or maraschino cherries, small pieces of walnut or candy mints, stirring them in very slowly and carefully.

  5. Step 5

Place teaspoonful of ingredients on a lightly greased cooking sheet.

  6. Step 6

Bake at 325 degrees for about an hour.

Tips & Warnings
  • When adding any fruits or other special ingredients make sure they are quite dry rather than having alto of juice that would dilute the original mixture.
  • Be sure not to add ingredients to the egg whites too fast as you want to be able to maintain the peaked stiffness.
