Make a bottle of wine into a extra special gift. Everyone will be impressed with your talent.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • one bottle of wine
  • cling wrap
  • ribbon (1/4 inch wide)
  • 4-6 oz of dipping chocolate
  • 1/4 cup of white chocalte chips
  1. Step 1

Wrap the bottle a piece cling wrap. Covering the bottom and sides up to the neck. Smooth it out as much as you can, but don't worry if it is not completely smooth, it will just add some wave to the chocolate.

  2. Step 2

You will need two pieces of ribbon about three times the height of the bottle each. Tie the ribbon around the bottle making a knot or bow at the top of the bottle with each piece of ribbon making sure to leave some a the top to decorate with.

  3. Step 3

Next melt the dipping chocolate, I prefer to use dark but a semi-sweet, bitter sweet, or milk chocolate will also work. You can melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave. Place the bottle on a plate and begin pouring the melted chocolate around the bottle allowing it to run down all around the bottle. Use a spoon or basting brush to cover any areas not covered. Place in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes or until the chocolate is set.

  4. Step 4

Next, melt enough chocolate to cover the bottom of the bottle. For this part, you will need to hold on to the bottle, not standing it up until the chocolate is set, or lie it on its side on a paper towel or something soft.

  5. Step 5

When the bottom is set, melt the white chocolate and drizzle it all over the dark chocolate. This part is limited only to your imagination. If you are really talented and creative, you can color the chocolate and paint on the dark chocolate.

  6. Step 6

To open, cut or untie the ribbon at the top and pull down. This will cause the chocolate to break. You may have to help pull some of the chocolate off if it sticks to the cling wrap, but it goes great with a bottle of red wine.

Tips & Warnings
  • This also works well with champagne bottles, or other liquor bottles, and is a great gift for new years, birthdays, valentines day or any special occasions.
