How to Make an Aromatic Table Wreath

This is the perfect centerpiece for any occasion. Make sure anyone doesn't try to eat it though as it is for display purposes only. Read on to learn how to make an aromatic table wreath.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. ground allspice
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 15-inch grapevine wreath
  • Cinnamon essential oil
  • Hot glue gun

How to Make the Cookies

Step1
Combine flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, baking powder and allspice in a medium bowl and set aside.
Step2
Beat the brown sugar and the butter together in another bowl with an electric mixer. Beat in the egg.
Step3
Beat the dry mixture slowly in and chill.
Step4
Roll dough out on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thick. Cut out leaves and flower shapes or use cookie cutters for whatever designs you choose.
Step5
Bake on baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Set the oven at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.

How to Make the Wreath

Step1
Glue the cookies into place on the wreath with the glue gun in a nice balanced arrangement.
Step2
Press firmly to adhere the cookies but careful not to break them.
Step3
Spray entire wreath with cinnamon essential oil.

Tips & Warnings

  • Roll out scraps into thin ropes and make them swirly like vines.
  • Use cookies as ornaments.
  • Surround with candles to make more festive centerpiece.
  • Spray with a sealant to give it shine and keep the wreath fresh.
