Step 1
If clean water is used during the hanging process (change it often) there will be less messy glue to cleanup when the job is completed. Be sure that as you work you wipe off excess glue from ceilings, baseboards and trim before it dries or it will cause the paint to lift off.

Step 2
For those spots where glue was missed and it has dried, use club soda to break down the composition of glue without damaging the paper.
-
Step 3
Once the glue has dried, if there are bubbles under the paper, smooth the repair toward the seams. Don't cut the bubble unless the glue is dry. Use a razor knife to cut a slit through the bubble. If there is a pattern in the paper cut along a pattern line to hide the slit. Insert the tip of a glue applicator through the slit sponging off excess glue.

Step 4
Are some of your seams bubbled? This is caused by rolling the seams too hard before the adhesive sets. Too much of the adhesive was squeezed from under the edges. Repair seams by wetting the wallpaper to lift it enough to apply more glue from the applicator. Press the seam flat and let it dry for half an hour. Smooth lightly with a roller and wipe the excess glue from the seam with a damp sponge.
