Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups chicken
  • Shortening
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • Bread crumbs
  • 2 cups new potatoes
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Butter
  • 1 pint chicken stock
  1. Step 1

    Boil the chicken, grind the pepper and slice up the potatoes. Boil the stock.

  2. Step 2

    Mix salt, pepper, flour and 2 tbsp. of shortening and add to the stock to make a thick gravy.

  3. Step 3

    Smear butter along the bottom and sides of a baking pan, then spread out a layer of bread crumbs, a layer of chicken and a layer of potatoes. Top with yet another layer of bread crumbs.

  4. Step 4

    Pour gravy over the whole and top with pats of butter.

  5. Step 5

    Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
