Instructions

    • 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray down a cookie sheet until properly greased for the dough rolls. In a medium-sized bowl, add 3/4 cup of butter and 1 cup of white sugar until the mix is fluffy in texture. Add 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon, 3/4 tbsp. baking powder and 1/2 tbsp. salt to this bowl and sift accordingly. If you would like to spice up the flavor of these desserts, add 1 cup of hazelnuts and stir until a completely mixed texture is doughy in appearance.

    • 2

Shape the dough mixture into two equal portions, resulting in two log-like pieces about 1 foot in length. Place both of these logs onto the cookie tray and flatten until each is about 1/2 inch in height. Put the baking tray into the oven for about 30 minutes for the preliminary baking.

    • 3

Remove the pan and cut each of the biscotti loaves into 1/2-inch, diagonal slices. Place the pan back into the oven for an additional 10 minutes, rotating each of the pieces once. Remove the pan after this 10-minute time period, then let each of the pieces cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for optimum taste.
