How to make Biscotti in 3 easy steps
A biscotti is a classic Italian baked dessert treat that is often eaten with coffee drinks, such as espresso or cappuccino. While this dessert dates back to Ancient Roman times, this glorified biscuit is still very popular in coffee shops and cafes throughout the world. While the involvement in preparing this biscotti is not very lengthy, the total time from beginning to end is about one hour and 30 minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

- Baking powder
- Salt
- Sugar
- Butter
- Vanilla Extract
- Cinnamon
- Eggs
- Hazelnuts
- Medium-sized bowl

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray down a cookie sheet until properly greased for the dough rolls. In a medium-sized bowl, add 3/4 cup of butter and 1 cup of white sugar until the mix is fluffy in texture. Add 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon, 3/4 tbsp. baking powder and 1/2 tbsp. salt to this bowl and sift accordingly. If you would like to spice up the flavor of these desserts, add 1 cup of hazelnuts and stir until a completely mixed texture is doughy in appearance.

Shape the dough mixture into two equal portions, resulting in two log-like pieces about 1 foot in length. Place both of these logs onto the cookie tray and flatten until each is about 1/2 inch in height. Put the baking tray into the oven for about 30 minutes for the preliminary baking.

Remove the pan and cut each of the biscotti loaves into 1/2-inch, diagonal slices. Place the pan back into the oven for an additional 10 minutes, rotating each of the pieces once. Remove the pan after this 10-minute time period, then let each of the pieces cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for optimum taste.
