The first step to find the right match or compatible person is to check the years in which two people in question is born. This is the basis of Chinese Astrology Compatibility. The Chinese Astrology is composed of 12 Animal Signs for each year. Having a good compatibility match based on the technique described in step 1 is only part of the process. This step brings you a bit closer to the 'best fit' if you and one other person in question match in the western Zodiac Astrology. Similarly, there are twelve signs based on months unlike years for Chinese Astrology, and these signs get along in general according to the groups (whichever sign you are, in that particular group you will get along with the other 2 signs. As far as the compatibility between two identical signs it would not be as good of a match as the other two signs that fall within your group but there could be a possbility, similar to the process as described in step 1):

The next thing you want to do is to compare the compatibility between your life path numbers (calculated from the birth numbers) and if you want to go deeper the destiny and chaldean number (calculated from the full birth name given at birth). This is the numerological aspect of compatible matching, and in my opinion probably the most important, because even if the Western and Chinese zodiac signs are not heavenly matches , if you have numerology compatibility there is a decreased chance for rough relations.
The numbers that exist for numerology are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11,and 22. Typcially the odd numbers are usually compatible with other odd numbers other than their own
(except 11;this number gets along with the even numbers) and evens get along with other evens other than their own
(except that 6 can get along with 3 and 9.) Not to say that two identical numbers WON't get along, I just know for sure that odds
get along with odds other than their own number and evens get along with other evens other than their own number including exceptions listed.

If you want to get even more specific concerning your matches with another person, you can also calculate the destiny numbers which are based on numbers assigned to each letter of your full name given at birth. There are two kinds of destiny numbers: pythagorean and chaldean. The numbers for each of these systems are the same and have same personality characteristics assigned to each number, but different ways of coming up with these numbers. You can download a program that calculates both the Chaldean and pythagorean aspects. I look at the main number that includes the manipulation of all the letters, consonant AND vowel. Note that chaldean and pythagorean number may be different when calculated for only one full birth name, but the person will usually carry both traits of these numbers which I find phenomenal when I discovered this technique.
