How to Make Sautéed Peanut Butter and Bread

No, this is not one of Elvis's favorite recipes. But it could've been. It's sure to raise some eyebrows at the dinner table!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • Shortening
  • Freshly-ground pepper
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 6 slices of rye bread

Step1
Heat the milk in a saucepan.
Step2
Heat up the shortening in a deep pan. Grind the pepper.
Step3
Mix the peanut butter, salt, pepper and milk.
Step4
Dredge the bread in this mixture.
Step5
Sauté the peanut butter-covered bread in the hot shortening and drain on paper towels.
