A Mexican sugar cookie recipe, these treats can be made for the Day of the Dead or any other Mexican holiday.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 1½ cups pecan bits
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbs. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  1. Step 1

    Break the pecans into bits.

  2. Step 2

Heat the milk and sugar to 240 degrees F. When you can form a small ball with your spoon, which dissolves when you remove it from the water, take the mixture from the heat, put in vanilla and butter and set aside. Do not stir, but rather allow it to cool.

  3. Step 3

At the point the mixture reaches 95 degrees F, beat it for 3 minutes, then add the pecans.

  4. Step 4

Smear a pan with butter, pour the mixture in and cut after it hardens.
