You've had a long day at work and your friend called and wants to go out on the town. You can never turn down an invitation, but you don't feel like going all the way home just to go back out. What do you do? There are simple ways to take what you wore to work and look like you are in party mode when you show up at the bar.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Makeup and face wash
  • Deodorant and perfume or body splash
  • High heels
  • Change of shirt
  • Hot accessory, such as an extra long necklace or flashy bracelet
  1. Step 1

After work, go to the bathroom to transform yourself. Even if your makeup is still on and intact, wash it off and start fresh. Often a fresh face with a clean coat of makeup makes any outfit look amazing in a social setting. Use makeup remover, wash your face and moisturize Always carry these items in your bag for these occasions.

  2. Step 2

Put on your makeup, but make your eyes or lips smoldering. Do the smoky eye look with dark shadow or liner, or make your lips super glossy. Do one or the other; doing both will make you look trampy.

  3. Step 3

If you have a fresh shirt or blouse with you, change into it. Add an accessory that makes your outfit hot and ready for socializing. If you don't have an extra accessory with you, pull your hair back into a sexy twist at the nape of the neck or a sleek ponytail. This will show off your makeup more and make it the accessory stand-in.

  4. Step 4

Put on deodorant and spritz on perfume or spray. You'll feel cleaner and ready to be around people. No one will think that you've just had a 10-hour day.

  5. Step 5

If you anticipated the night out and brought a higher pair of heels or cuter shoes, put them on, but make sure they go with the rest of your outfit. If you have room in your desk, keep a pair in a drawer for emergency social events.

  6. Step 6

If you still don't feel presentable, call the friend who invited you out and ask her to bring one of her cute tops or dangly pair of earrings.

Tips & Warnings
  • Chances are no one will notice that you are in your work clothes, so do what you can with what you have on. Take off a suit jacket so that your button down shirt and dress pants stand on their own.
  • You can never go wrong with fresh breath as your only extra accessory. Carry mints, a travel toothbrush and floss and you won't be afraid to chat people up.
