Females often forget to protect their scalps when they go out in the sun. They slather themselves with a high SPF, pull their hair back and head outside. This leaves the parts in their hair exposed to the burning rays. However, with a few precautions, you can guard against a painful sunburn and the risks of skin cancer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sun block (lotion or spray)
  • Hat
  1. Step 1

After putting sun block on your body, you can apply the same lotion or spray on the part in your hair. If you want to keep your hair from getting greasy, apply an oil-free spray onto the top of your head.

  2. Step 2

Some women do not like putting either lotion or spray in their hair. If you fall into this category, wear a hat outside in order to avoid sunburn.

  3. Step 3

You can also pull your hair completely back to eliminate the part in your hair and avoid burning the top of your head. If you do this, apply sun block to the areas of your head where your skin meets your hairline. These areas are sensitive and can burn quickly.

  4. Step 4

Reapply sun block frequently, especially after swimming, exercising or sweating.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do burn, apply aloe to the affected areas. You can take ibuprofen to reduce pain on the burned areas.
