Hula-hooping- Its easier than you think! Lots of adults say to me " I used to do that when I was a kid but now I can't! Why?"
Short answer- use a bigger hoop!
How big is a big hoop? Take the number of inches around your waist, add 15 and you will get a good diameter for a beginner hoop. For instance, a 30 inch waist would want a 45 inch diameter hula-hoop.
Step1
Place hoop on ground, Stand inside the hoop, back up, heels to back of hoop, squat down and grab the hoop should width apart and stand up.
Step2
hold hoop against lower back, just above the hip bones.
Step3
just like this except without the speed bag!
place one foot a step in front of the other and swing the hoop- in a smooth horizontal motion- when the hoop comes around and touches your belly, wing you hips forward, pushing against it!

Thanks for all the information. I remember this as a child and I have to say it is funner with your friends when your older and a great workout.
