Submitting articles to article directories is a highly effective way to promote your blog, and it doesn’t cost anything but a little of your time. You can make your articles available to webmasters and ezine publishers who need content. It’s a win-win situation: The publisher gets free content, and you get free exposure for your blog.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Write an original article that pertains to the subject matter of your blog. Make it informative enough to interest publishers and their readers, but don’t give everything away. Give readers a reason to come to your blog to learn more.

  2. Step 2

Write a short biography for your resource box. Include a link to your blog or blogs. The terms of service of most article directories require that publishers leave the article and resource box as-is, so this will result in links to your blog anywhere your article is used.

  3. Step 3

Submit your article to several article directories. See the Resources section for links to some of the most popular ones. Read the submission guidelines carefully. You may need to make some minor modifications to your article to make sure it complies with them.

  4. Step 4

Write and submit more articles. The more articles you make available, the more likely it is that they will appear on lots of sites and in lots of ezines. Readers who enjoy your articles will want more, and they can easily follow the link to your blog to read more of your work.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you like, you can simply paraphrase some of your previous blog posts to make good articles.
  • Don’t submit your blog posts exactly as they exist on your blog. Doing so could result in search engine penalties for duplicate content when they are published elsewhere.
