There may be few things more annoying than working hard to clean your mirrors or windows only to find lint all over them. We have all heard the trick of using newspaper to clean a mirror or window without streaking, but we want to know how to avoid those lint pests.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If the mirror or window is very dirty, pre-clean it with a paper towel. Once any build up or residue has been removed, you can continue.

  2. Step 2

Place a paper coffee filter on your hand. Spray the mirror or window with glass cleaner. You can use a commercial brand or a homemade cleaner (such as water and vinegar).

  3. Step 3

Wipe the mirror or glass with the coffee filter, going either horizontal or vertical, but not both since this may cause slight streaking.

  4. Step 4

Remove the wet coffee filter and replace with a new filter. Continue to wipe the mirror or window until the area dries. The surface should emerge clean and lint free.

Tips & Warnings
  • Coned coffee filters tend to work more effectively since they fit over the hand better than regular filters.
  • The coffee filter can be bleached (white) or non-bleached (brown).
