Are you planning within the next year to host a Family Reunion? If so, a great way to get started with organizing and preparing the party would be to create a Blog. This will allow for you to store all of the happenings along the way, Party Ideas, Family Input, Tracking Guests, Directions and time of the Party and then ultimately creating the Blog that will showcase the Party, Pictures and comments from all of your Family Members.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet Access.
  • Free Blogging Site.
  • Information on the details of the upcoming Reunion.
  • Guest List with addresses and emails.
  • Paper Invitations for those Family Members unable to view the Blog.

  1. Step 1
    Create your Checklist on paper before entering onto your Blog.

    On paper, organize all of the events of the upcoming Reunion. Create a Checklist of everything you will need for the Reunion on paper before you create your Blog.

    Set up a free Blog through Blogger.com or another free Blog hosting site.

    Gather your Guest List and begin to send out paper invitations or call everyone by phone informing them of the Family Reunion Blog Site.

    Log on as often as possible to keep up with your Blog and other posts.

    Check your Blog regularly for updates and be sure to post once a week up until the Reunion to keep everyone involved and informed.

  • Open an account at Ancestory.com and gather as much as information as possible about family history for the Reunion.
  • Take pictures and document what everyone was doing that day so you can later journal and upload the pictures onto the Blog.
  • If you commit to starting the Blog, make sure you follow through.
  • Avoid paid Blogs, as they can have high monthly fees and place limits on photos and postings.
  • Not all family members attending the Reunion will access the Blog, be sure to send out paper invitations up to 3 months in advance.
