Your family will love this sweet kugel! While it’s traditional to serve sweet dishes (generally made with honey) during Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year), your family will love having this any time of year.

I love baking and cooking with kids. This recipe is simple enough for even a young cook can help you make it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bowl
  • 3/4 teaspoon melted margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups of a corn flake cereal

    Cook the Noodles

  1. Step 1

Fill the cooking pot with water. Bring it to a boil over medium heat.

  2. Step 2
Cook the noodles until they are al dente.

Add the salt and the noodles to the boiling water. Cook the noodles until they are al dente.

  3. Step 3

Drain the noodles and leave them in the pot with the cover on it.

  4. The Main Dish

  5. Step 1
Spread some of the melted margarine across the entire baking dish, including sides.

Spread some of the melted margarine on the baking pan to coat it. Be sure to coat the sides.

  6. Step 2

Place the softened cream cheese into a large bowl. Add the sugar and mix well. Then add the nectar, mixing well.

  7. Step 3

Finally, add the eggs and milk, mixing well after each. Pour the rest of the melted margarine into this mixture and stir it to mix it well.

  8. Step 4

Add the cooked noodles to this mixture and gently stir to mix well. You don’t want to stir too hard or you’ll break the cooked noodles, but you want to mix all of the noodles with the rest of the ingredients.

  9. Step 5

Pour this mixture into the greased (with margarine) baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap to seal, and place this in the refrigerator overnight.

  10. Make the Topping

  11. Step 1

    Mix these ingredients together.

  12. Step 2

Sprinkle on top just before putting the kugel into the oven.

  13. Step 3

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Tips & Warnings
  • This dish is best when its had at least 2 hours in the refrigerator, and is best when it can be refrigerated overnight.
  • Be careful anytime you have a pot of boiling water on the stove.
  • Be careful when you drain the cooked noodles. Boiling water can burn you or anyone else it lands on.
