Chocolate, pecans and a crust. What more could you ask for?

If you love turtles candy, you’ll love this delicious treat. It’s got that same great caramel taste, nuts and chocolate. What more could you ask for?

Even better, let your kids make the crust while you're making the caramel topping. Since the caramel topping gets so hot and can burn, I wouldn't suggest letting the kids make the caramel.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips, with the bag opened or poured in a bowl

As the chocolate chips melt, spread the chocolate around so that the entire cookie has an even crust of chocolate on the top.

Tips & Warnings
  • Let these cookies cool before cutting.
  • The hot caramel can easily burn you. Be very careful when working with it

on 12/8/2008 I make these for the holiday. But I use aluminum foil to line the pan. Make sure the some of the foil hangs over the edges. When the bars are cooled, you can remove them from the pan easier for cutting. Neater and you don't have to worry about not getting them out.
