This is a simple trick for parrots to learn. The idea is when you ask your bird to give a kiss, it'll kiss you on the lips with its beak. (dry lips of course)
First of all you need to make sure your bird is tame. If it is, make sure your lips are dry. No lipstick, chapstick, or saliva should be on them.
Step2
Next, wedge a seed or small treat into your dry lips. Make sure it doesn't go into your mouth!!
Step3
Watch the bird for any nervousness. Pinned eyes, nape raised, tail flared, etc. are signs of an overexcited or angry bird.
Step4
Next, put the bird near your lips. Since it is hard to talk with a treat in your mouth, you can due a physical cue, such as snapping your fingers. If you can talk with a treat in your lips, say "Kiss" or "Give a kiss!"
Step5
The bird should reach and grab the treat from your mouth. Praise it and say "good bird!"
Step6
Practice this for a few minutes everyday. Soon your bird should be able to kiss you without the treat (of course you give it to him after).
Tips & Warnings
Try to choose a small treat it takes the bird a few seconds to eat.
Make sure your bird is not a biter!
NO SALIVA should get on your birds treat, or on your lips. It is toxic!
Watch for signs of aggressiveness, overexcitedness, etc. BEFORE you try this trick. If you hold an angry bird near your face, it could result in a serious injury.
