Bierocks are wonderful rolls filled with ground beef, cabbage and onion. Baked in the oven, this roll is wonderful for an on the go meal.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 36 frozen dinner rolls, thawed
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • skillet
  • knives
  • baking sheets

Step1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Finely chop cabbage and onion.
Step2
Brown ground beef. Add onion and cook the mixture until the onion has softened. Add the finely chopped cabbage and cook it about ten minutes until the cabbage is soft. Season this mixture with salt and pepper. Cool the mixture.
Step3
Flatten a dinner roll until it is about 1/4" thick. Place two or three tablespoons of the beef mixture into the center of the flattened roll. Place the edges of the roll together and pinch to seal it. Place sealed side down on a baking sheet. Allow space in between each roll. Repeat this process until you all the filling and rolls are used.
Step4
Bake bierocks in oven for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.

Tips & Warnings

  • Purchase prepared coleslaw if you do not want to cut cabbage.
  • If you enjoy making bread, use your own recipe and simply roll out the dough and cut into approximately 6 inch squares.
  • Be sure to cool the filling prior to filling the rolls, it is very easy to burn yourself on it.
