New Year’s Eve is one of the most anticipated days on the calendar--ushering in a new year brings anticipation, resolutions, fresh starts and the excitement of the traditional countdown. Champagne flows, the ball drops and at the stroke of midnight it is customary to embrace that special someone and mark the occasion with lips locked. In order to start the year off in the right, romantic fashion, here are a few tips on how to have the perfect New Year’s Eve kiss.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you are in a relationship, make sure your partner is near you as the clock ticks onward, so that you remain relaxed and happy.

  2. Step 2

If you are single and looking, identify a few people who wouldn’t mind sharing that special moment with. The odds will be in your favor, and as midnight approaches you can have peace of mind that you won’t end up missing the experience.

  3. Step 3

Limit yourself to a few alcoholic drinks. Though it may be tempting to capitalize on the available champagne, you want to be able to clearly remember your kiss in the New Year.

  4. Step 4

Have a backup plan. Pick out a friend or a group of friends who can all share platonic kisses. This is a great way to keep things light and low pressure.

  5. Step 5

When the moment comes, abide by the general rules of kissing, and have a breath mint or a piece of gum handy.
