In the business world, sometimes trendy is not really the way to dress. The classics make for a more impressive look that is simple to create. Plus, they never go out of style. Princess Grace of Monaco and Audrey Hepburn's chic style of the 1950's is still all the rage for today's savvy businesswoman.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Classic black pants Let's start with the basics. 1 or 2 pairs carmel/khaki colored dress slacks (not GAP khakis), 1 or 2 pairs of black slacks, 1 pair of blue slacks, 1 above the knee cut classic carmel/khaki colored skirt and 1 above knee black classic cut skirt.
Step2
With the shirt, you can make it your own style and bring in the colors that you prefer. Classy button downs (short and long sleeve) are always chic. Turtlenecks are fabulous and cozy in the winter.
Step3
Diamond (real or faux) are always elegant Accessorize but don't overdo it. A simple pair of stud earrings and a watch always dress up an outfit simply and elegantly.
Step4
Pumps Always have a pair of black, brown, carmel/khaki colored and blue pumps on hand. Closed-toed are best.
Step5
A shade that matches your natural skin tone is preferable. Stay away from sheer. Opaques are much more flattering to your legs.
Step6
Finish the ensemble off with a nice belt that doesn't say "HERE'S MY BELT" with a buckle the size of Texas on it. Thin to medium widths are best.
Step7
Keep your makeup simple and highlight your best feature (usually your eyes or lips).
Step8
Keep your hair simple. You don't have to spend a lot of time or hairspray to have the perfect do, but your hair should be dry when going out.

Tips & Warnings

  • Practice makes perfect. If the first time you try it, you don't get the look you want, try again the next day.
