Things You'll Need:
- Your body
- A Snowy area
- Accessories (optional)
-
Step 1
Step one can be done many ways, but the most common is to stand up tall with your arms and legs slightly apart. Your back should be facing the area of the snowy ground in which you’d like to make your snow angel.
Alternatively you can keep your arms and legs close to your body OR even raise your hands directly above your head to form a straight line. -
Step 2
(Possibly the most fun part for the kids)
Now that you’re standing in a comfortable position, lean backwards until you fall into the snow. Try to keep your body as straight as possible when falling, and always protect your head!
Alternatively you can simply sit down in the snow and then slowly lean backwards until your lying flat on the ground. -
Step 3
Once you’re settled into the snow, pretend you’re doing Jumping Jacks lying down – raising your arms up and down, while spreading and closing your legs (it’s easier to do at the same time).
Arms:
- If your arms are by your sides, raise them both above your head (at the same time if possible) pushing the snow as you raise them up.
- If your arms are already above your head, move them down to your side, pushing the snow as you move.
Legs:
- Open and close your legs until you make a good impression in the snow.
Repeat this process until you make a good impression in the snow. -
Step 4
Possibly the trickiest part, is getting up without ruining your finely crafted snow angel! There really is no technique for this part, you basically just have to sit up then stand and then jump to an area away from your angel.
That’s all there is to creating a snow angel. Of course you can make yours extra special by drawing a halo with a stick above it’s head or anything else your creative mind can muster up using materials or items that are in your possession. Most importantly, be safe and have fun!
