For the past 23 years, this rock band from New Jersey has been pleasing listeners with hits such as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Bad Medicine,” and “It’s My Life.” With 13 successful concert tours under their belt, fans from all over the world flock to see Bon Jovi live.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Hardcore fans can sign up to be a part of Backstage with Bon Jovi, the official Bon Jovi Fan Club. Membership perks include online member access, fan club ticketing packages exclusively for members and special event access. Members often get presale ticket perks. Visit Backstage with Jon Bon Jovi for pricing and further information (see resources).
Step2
If you don’t want to pay to join the fan club, go to Ticketmaster.com and get yourself set up to receive emails alerting you when Bon Jovi goes on tour and when tickets for that tour will go on sale. You can even receive text message reminders so you remember to log onto the website within the first 60 seconds the tickets are officially on sale. Make sure you log on as close to the official sale time as possible, for the best available seat options.
Step3
Arrive early. Bon Jovi usually gets fairly well-known opening acts that put on a decent show to get you ready for the main event. Recent openers have included Nickelback, Jason Mraz, Daughtry and All-American Rejects.
Step4
Get into it. Don’t be that person that goes to a concert and just sits there, complaining how loud it is. Bon Jovi puts on a vigorous show that generally runs for 2 hours or longer, with encores, and combining the band’s energy with the audience’s energy makes for the best concert experience one can have. Audience involvement is always encouraged by the band as well, as you’re often instructed to get up and sing along from Jon Bon Jovi himself.
Step5
Get respectfully excited when Jon Bon Jovi makes his way into the audience. For at least one song per show, he is usually on a small platform somewhere amongst the floor seats. Fans always get twice as excited when he makes his way that much closer to him, but remember not to attack him. Jon Bon Jovi is surrounded by body guards and security for a reason: he’s a person too and probably doesn’t want to be personally attacked. He shakes hands and high-fives the crowd as he makes his way back to the stage, so get your physical contact from him that way instead of trying to jump on his back or rip out pieces of his hair.
Step6
Take pictures, and make use of your camera’s zoom feature. Many concert venues are a lot more lenient about letting in cameras, if you used them with the flash turned off and are respectful of those around you.
Step7
Visit the merchandise booths. With a wide variety of products from t-shirts and sweatshirts to posters, CDs, glow sticks and even underwear, you’re sure to find something to take home as a souvenir of the concert.
