Dress up any cake for entertaining or parties with a dramatic floral ring surrounding the cake. Your guests will be in awe of your cleverness! Here's how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Round decorated cake
  • Wire wreath form
  • Floral garland (to match the cake)
  • Floral tape
  • Cake pedestal (optional)

Step1
Select a wire wreath form four inches bigger than the diameter of your cake; if you use a cake pedestal, it should be about six inches bigger than the diameter of the cake.
Step2
Next take your floral garland, and using some floral tape, secure the end of the garland to the wire wreath form, and start winding the garland tightly around the wire form, not leaving any open spaces around the wire wreath.
Step3
Once your garland is totally around the wire form, tape the other end of the garland to the wire in an inconspicuous spot. Arrange the position of the flowers so that you don't have any bare spots. Voila! Place the wreath around your cake on the cake plate or pedestal.

Tips & Warnings

  • Start out with a six-foot garland so that you have more than enough to circle the form.
  • You can attach any extra flowers with floral wire or tape, and let them drape over the edge of the cake pedestal for an even more dramatic effect.
