Determine Compatibility Using Numerology
Determine Compatibility Using Numerology

You can use Numerology to determine your compatibility with another person. You can also use Numerology to find your compatibility with a location or address. It's easy, you just have to do a bit of addition. For compatibility between people, you use Destiny numbers, so you need to know each person's full birth name. For location compatibility, you use Life Path numbers, so you need the person's birth date.

From Quick Guide: Love Compatibility Basics
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Person's birthdate, day, month and year
  • Location name, and/or address
  • Paper and pencil
  • Calculator (optional)

    Personal Compatibility

  1. Step 1
    Numeric Value of Letters
    Numeric Value of Letters

Assign a numeric value to each letter in each name. You can use the chart below to find the numbers. We'll use the names Mary Kathleen Jones and Edward Allen Brown.

  2. Step 2

Following the chart, Mary Kathleen Jones would be 4+1+9+7+2+1+2+8+3+5+5+5+1+6+5+5+1 which equals 70. 7+0=7, so this name reduces to a Destiny number of 7. Edward Allen Brown would be 5+4+5+1+9+4+1+3+3+5+5+2+9+6+5+5 which equals 72. 7+2=9, so this name reduces to a Destiny number of 9.

  3. Step 3
    Compatibility Chart
    Compatibility Chart

Use the following chart to compare the two numbers. We see that a 7 is compatible with 1, 2, 4 and 5, and incompatible with 3, 6 and 8.
    Conversely, 9 is compatible with 3, 5, 6 and 8, and incompatible with 4.

  4. Step 4

So, we see that these two people aren't automatically compatible, but they're also not obviously incompatible. So, if they are interested in having a relationship, they would probably be fine with a little work. This also means that they might be better as friends than lovers, because they might each want to have their own space to retreat to. They would probably be great as coworkers.

  5. Location Compatibility

  6. Step 1

Mary's birth date is 11/10/1974. 1+1+1+1+9+7+4=24 and 2+4=6, so Mary's Life Path number is 6. Now we can evaluate a potential move.

  7. Step 2

Find the numeric values of both Chicago and New York. Chicago is 3+8+9+3+1+7+6=37 and 3+7=10, which reduces to 1. New York is 5+5+5+7+6+9+2=39, 3+9=12, and 1+2=3. So, Chicago is a 1 and New York is a 3.

  8. Step 3

Mary is a 6. The chart shows us that a 6 is compatible with 3 or 9 and incompatible with 1, 7 and 8. So, according to the chart, Mary stands a much better chance being happy in New York than she does in Chicago.

  9. Step 4

To check her numbers and choose an apartment Mary needs an apartment that adds up to a 3 or a 9, or she at least needs to not take one that adds up to 1, 7 or 8.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use this to add up the numbers of street names and house addresses.
  • You also need to follow your instincts and practicality. If you're worried about burglars, you might be more comfortable with apartment number 22 (a 4), on the second floor than number 18 (a 9), on the first floor.
  • Again, follow your instincts. If you walk into a place and you feel uncomfortable, don't let the numbers talk you into going against your own instincts. The numbers are one source of information, but not the only one.
  • Numerology is a tool, but it never trumps your intelligence.

on 7/22/2009 this is a really interesting article - only one thing that's not covered...what if 2 peoples destiny numbers are the same? does this mean anything different?

on 11/19/2008 You calculated "destiny #" from their name, but used "life path #" to check compatibility on chart which lists destiny #. (?)
