Adobe After Effects is a program which you can use to combine footage with transparent backgrounds, such as video shot on a green screen. If you have footage you want to add other elements or animation to, here is how to import those files into Adobe After Effects.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open the Adobe After Effects program.

  2. Step 2

Go to "File," then "Import," and then "File." If you are working with more than one file, you can open them all at once, by choosing “Multiple Files,” rather than “File.”

  3. Step 3

Navigate to the folder where your footage is saved and select the file or files you wish to import.

  4. Step 4

Make sure “Straight-Unmatted" is selected in the footage pop-up window and click OK.

  5. Step 5

Go to "File," and then "Save As." Give your project a name. You may consider saving your project file in the same folder as your footage, or copying your footage to a new file with your project file. This will save you a headache should you move your files around later as everything will be in the same place and you will not have to re-import your footage files.
