Adobe Photoshop is a versatile photograph program you can use for a variety of digital image editing needs. While it may seem intimidating to the novice, it is easy to learn some of the simple functions on an individual basis. And when you get more advanced, you will start using more filter effects on your images. Here is how to blend effects effectively.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Select the layer with the effect to make it active if you have applied an effect and wish to fade it.
Step2
Go to "Edit," and then "Fade." You may choose to select the "Preview" option before applying the blending.
Step3
Click on the pop-up effects window to access the opacity adjustment tool. Drag the slider to adjust the overall opacity, from 0% (totally transparent) to 100%.
Step4
Choose from a variety of blending modes in the "Mode" menu, and then click OK to preview. If you do not like the effect, go to "Edit," and choose "Undo Blending Mode."
Step5
Repeat any of the above effects with the painting tool and/or color adjustment to blend those effects.
