Many times food-bourne illnesses can be prevented simply by washing raw fruits and vegetables properly. Scrubbing them under running water alone is not enough, but soaking them in Grapefruit Seed Extract in water kills parasites and germs, making raw foods safe to eat. Use these tips to make sure your healthy foods are as good for you as they appear to be. To your health!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • fruits or vegetables
  • vegetable brush
  • large bowl of water
  • GSE
Step1
Remove soil and debris from the produce using a vegetable brush and running water at your sink. Be especially careful with veggies like broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce for hidden dirt.
Step2
Put 15 to 20 drops of GSE into the large bowl of water, and agitate to dissolve. Place fruits or vegetables into the bowl, making sure the water covers them.
Step3
Allow to soak for a few minutes, then remove. It is not necessary to rinse the produce.

Tips & Warnings

  • Even pre-washed, "ready-to-eat" salads from the grocery store can be contaminated and should be washed. Put the salad greens into a collander, and set the collander into the large bowl of GSE water. Soak for a few minutes, then lift the collander out. Allow the salad to drain.
