It is hard to see the glass as half full when those who surround you see it as half empty. So how do you keep from falling into the trap of gloom and doom perspectives?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Above all, believe in yourself. If it is an endeavor that you wish to try or a milemarker that you have to face, only you can create your own successful outcome. Everything in life is what you make it to be.
Step2
Sometimes you just need to smile and nod when the world is slinging negativity around you. This does not mean you agree with it. You just have better things to do than agree with the negative remarks or argue your point.
Step3
Realize that you don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself. Once you convince yourself of something, there is nothing that anyone can say or do to change your perspective. When you realize that you are a wonderful person, does what's her face's snide remarks really matter?
Step4
Believe it or not, your conviction to your optimistic outlook will soon become contagious on its' own. People in general want to be happy and want to see the bright side of things. Misery may love company but company loves to be loved and happy.
Step5
Read books that help boost your morale. Try fiction books that make you laugh or self-help books that help you find your inner child. You can even try cooking books that make your belly smile.
Step6
You are who you hang out with. If you tend to hang with people who are not into the things that you are really interested in, go out and find people who are. There are so many ways to do this now and it is not as strange as one would think.
Step7
Don't be afraid to step outside of the box or your comfort zone. Some people spend their whole lives in a specific role because they are too afraid to belive in themselves and follow their dreams.

Tips & Warnings

  • This takes time and practice. You may experience an overnight change and you may not. That is up to you and how you handle things.
