Every city has little treasures that give it a special kind of charm. San Diego is no different. With its deep canyons and rising hills, there are plenty of places ideal for man-made crossings. On Spruce Street, there is a walking suspension bridge that is unique in San Diego. Walking across this foot bridge will give you an experience to treasure. The view is fantastic and it's fun.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
The Front Street access point Access this walking bridge at the corner of Spruce Street and Front Street, or at the corner of Spruce Street and Brant Street.
Step2
Check out the Front Street access point. It has a beautiful plaque denoting the bridge's historical designation and it provides a wonderful view of it's impressive support structure.
Step3
Cross the bridge. Notice how high you are and the view of nature from above.
Step4
Walk across as many times as you want--it's free.

Tips & Warnings

  • The bridge is closed for foot traffic from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • The bridge will sway as you walk, so take your time and watch your step.
  • If you have small children with you, be prepared to carry them across. They may be frightened.
