How to Make One Glass of Lemonade
Homemade lemonade from freshly squeezed lemons is a refreshing beverage that many people enjoy. It is usually made in a large pitcher, but sometimes you may want a smaller quantity. You may have only one lemon on hand, or you may want to make just one glass of lemonade for yourself. The process is simpler than you think, but there are ways to dress it up if you'd like to be a bit more adventurous. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 large lemon
- Cold water
- Sugar or sweetener of your choice, to taste
- Citrus reamer or fork
- Fine mesh sieve
- Glass

Place a sieve over your glass. This will prevent seeds from falling in your glass while you are juicing the lemon.

Cut the lemon in half. Stick a fork or citrus reamer into one half of the lemon, and squeeze and twist the lemon half, squeezing the juice into the sieve. Using the fork or reamer helps to extract as much juice as possible.

Add as much sugar or sweetener as you like. Dissolve it in the lemon juice by stirring vigorously.

Add water until the glass is about 3/4 full. Add ice, then stir to mix the lemon syrup and the water.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of sugar, you can use honey, agave syrup, stevia or another natural sweetener.
A dash of cayenne pepper will give your lemonade a zesty kick.
Try muddling a basil leaf or mint leaf in with the sugar and lemon juice.
