How To Ghost Hunt in Kentucky

Step1
Ghost hunting in Kentucky should always start with the infamous Waverly Sanitarium in Louisville. Reputed to be the most haunted location in the United States, it has been visited by the Most Haunted and TAPs ghost hunters with staggering results. An old ruinous TB hospital, visitors can book a tour, and even spend the night to walk through the hospital and record experiences of their own!
Step2
Cemeteries are a favorite "haunt" of mine, and Kentucky is full of old civil war and other spooky locations. The Grapevine cemetery in Madisonville has an angel statue that allegedly bleeds from the eyes. Hopkinsville has the Riverside cemetery which is the resting place of a civil war general and one of the Bell Witch children. People say you can hear the sounds of screams at night as well as otherworldly smells.
Step3
Park City, Kentucky is home to the well known geological attraction; Mammoth Cave. This beautiful cave system also seems to be haunted, as eye witnesses tell of seeing the ghost of a man in period clothing walking through the eerily lit caverns.
Step4
Walmart may be scary to small town businesses, but to patrons as well in this Winchester, Kentucky town. The story of a 2003 suicide within its aisles has led to cold spots and the feeling of being watched by customers and cashiers. Spooky!

Tips & Warnings

  • When going to Waverly Hills check out their website and be sure to have an appointment to get your tour.
