Salmon is an ingredient in many family-favorite meals. Make spicy salmon patties a new favorite by serving them alone as an appetizer or on soft rolls as a hearty sandwich. Use canned salmon to make a quick, inexpensive and easy dish, and adjust the amount of heat by adding more or fewer peppers. Serve the patties with a fresh green salad or sweet potato fries.   • 2 cans flaked salmon
  • 1 chipotle pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Bread crumbs
  • Black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Frying pan
  • Vegetable oil
  • Spatula

Instructions

      In a medium bowl, combine the salmon, chipotle peppers, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, egg and black pepper. Mix well to incorporate.

      Cover and refrigerate the mixture for one hour to allow the flavors to blend.

      Divide the salmon mixture into equal patties.

      Heat about a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties on one side until browned, about five.minutes. Flip them and brown the other side.

      Serve the salmon patties on toasted buns with mustard.

  • Fry the patties in olive oil for a crunchier patty.
