Making pizza dough in a bread machine isn't hard at all. As for the taste ... well, you'll never want to go back to store-bought dough or frozen pizza. Put your bread machine to work making fresh pizza dough. Make extra to freeze so you always have dough on hand for a quick meal. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Flavorings, such as Italian seasoning, basil, oregano, Parmesan cheese or hot pepper flakes.

Instructions

      Measure all of the ingredients into the bread machine pan.

      Set the bread machine to the dough cycle and turn it on.

      When the dough cycle ends, turn out the dough onto a floured counter or bread board.

      With floured hands, form the dough into balls and allow to rise at least an hour.

      Roll the dough out to make a pizza, or wrap tightly in plastic and freeze for use in the future.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you let the dough rise outside the bread machine before you freeze it, it turns out better.

  • For a thin-crust pizza, roll out the dough as thin as you can, and use the extra for breadsticks.

  • Make a double or triple batch so you'll have some left over to freeze.
